Job Description

BBIX LLC is a leading provider of architectural and engineering services with a strong presence in the US market.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Designer/Drafter to join our team in San Antonio, Texas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed designs for mechanical systems, equipment, and controls, ensuring compliance with industry standards and building codes.
  • Resolve design problems and perform quality control checks on works of others, maintaining high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Review, edit, and refine mechanical specifications to ensure they meet project requirements.
  • Draft technical details and specifications, utilizing Computer Aided Design and Drafting systems to prepare drawings and documents.
  • Prepare engineering drawings that detail plans and specifications, ensuring clarity and precision.
  • Assist with the preparation of construction drawings and construction detailing for contractors, ensuring seamless project execution.
  • Review building codes and regulations to ensure that designs comply with minimum legal standards, maintaining a high level of regulatory compliance.
  • Assist in the construction administration phase by reviewing shop drawings and creating a master log of project submittals, ensuring timely and accurate project delivery.
  • Collaborate with the design team on projects from the pre-schematic phase through construction documents, providing expert mechanical design support.
  • Edit, maintain, and expand REVIT details and library, staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.

Requirements:

  • Must be a US citizen.
  • At least 5 years of experience with CAD/Revit design of mechanical systems for commercial and industrial facilities.
  • Proficiency with REVIT and AutoCAD is required.
  • Occasional travel to job sites and branch offices may be required; ability to travel when necessary is essential.
  • Ability to work independently on multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively.
  • Associates, Bachelor, or Master's degree in drafting or engineering is preferred.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to develop, communicate, and present designs to the team.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
