Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled HVAC Engineer - Commercial Systems Specialist to join our team at CBRE. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of commercial HVAC systems in our assigned facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate, inspect, and maintain mechanical and electrical equipment for commercial HVAC systems to achieve optimal results.
  • Ensure equipment is maintained in a safe manner, minimizing downtime through proactive performance testing and scheduled maintenance.
  • Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, and company directives related to building operations and work safety.
  • Maintain, operate, and repair HVAC systems and associated equipment, electrical distribution equipment, plumbing systems, and building interior/exterior repair.
  • Inspect building HVAC and plumbing systems to ensure operation within design capabilities and environmental conditions.
  • Perform assigned repairs, emergency, and preventive maintenance, completing maintenance and repair records as required.
  • Respond quickly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as needed.
  • Review historical maintenance records to develop proactive inspection, testing, and preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Operate company vehicles in a safe manner, following prescribed routines to service locations in a timely manner.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) plus a minimum of seven years of experience as a certified refrigerant technician.
  • Completion of a formal apprenticeship program is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Certification in two or more of the following: electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and refrigeration systems, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, painting, plumbing, carpentry, or engine repair, as well as CFC Certification.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable, and courteous service to customers.
  • Ability to effectively present information.
Working Conditions

The physical requirements of this position include stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.

Scope of Responsibility

This position has a moderate level of decision-making authority, with thorough knowledge of procedures and company policies to achieve set results and deadlines.
