Job Summary

As a Medical Office Supervisor at UofL Health, you will provide leadership and guidance to our patient care staff, ensuring the smooth operation of our medical practice. Your role will involve supervising medical assistants, monitoring tasks, and filling in clinical roles as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and mentor medical assistants to ensure excellent patient care.
  • Monitor and manage tasks to ensure timely completion and high-quality results.
  • Fill in clinical roles as needed to support the team and ensure continuity of care.
  • Resolve patient complaints and concerns in a professional and empathetic manner.
  • Monitor and manage lunch schedules and coverage to ensure adequate staffing.
  • Train new hires to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties.
  • Evaluate staff competencies and provide feedback to improve performance.
  • Monitor patient flow and ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Utilize electronic medical records and other systems to retrieve information and manage patient data.
  • Manage inventory and supplies to ensure adequate stock levels.
  • Perform opening and closing duties in the manager's absence.
  • Exhibit friendly and helpful behavior to ensure excellent customer service.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field required; emphasis in Healthcare Administration preferred.
  • Three years' supervisory experience preferred; appropriate experience may be substituted for educational requirements.
  • Certified in Basic Life Support.

Working Conditions

  • Occasional exposure to blood, body tissue, or fluids (Category A), and hazardous materials and dust.
  • Position may be stressful and demanding.
