The Senior Restoration Technician will lead a team of technicians in the restoration and mitigation of properties damaged by natural disasters or other events. This position requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as a thorough understanding of safety guidelines and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Maintain regular communications with key stakeholders, including Branch Managers, Operations Managers, Project Managers, Supervisors, and Project Coordinators, to discuss project schedules, changes in scope of work, material, and personnel resources.
- Perform and/or direct staff to perform necessary tasks to expedite the completion of projects, including picking up and ordering materials, moving client contents, and performing necessary repairs at the highest quality while adhering to code regulations and industry standards.
- Lead a group of 8 or more technicians, providing supervision and direction based on defined job parameters.
- Oversee and ensure maintenance of company-assigned vehicles and restock supplies as necessary.
- Complete and turn in crew sheets and job notes at the end of each day.
- Serve as a role model in following and enforcing company policy and safety procedures while performing services.
- Assist in the development of technicians through mentoring, coaching, equipping, and encouraging the development of skills.
- Assist in jobsite safety briefings and provide training within the scope of knowledge.
- May act as a company Site Safety Representative, applying knowledge of industry standards, safety training, and understanding of company policies in enforcing safety guidelines.
- Review and ensure accuracy of completed timecards, ensuring timecards are submitted in a timely and accurate manner, and ensure crew members do the same.
- Turn in completed work orders, which may include measurements, moisture readings, and necessary detailed paperwork for Project Managers to complete billing.
- Maintain trade skills through regular training, as provided by the company.
- Continues building knowledge of company services, operations, and standard practices to support individual professional growth.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a lead technician role in the construction field, and/or restoration/mitigation field, or experience gained through successfully meeting job requirements of a Lead Tech II.
- Valid Driver's License, with a driving record in good standing (Class C).
- Must be insurable.
- Thorough understanding of safety guidelines and applies safety knowledge to daily tasks.
- Successfully completed the Site Safety Representative training.
- Possesses thorough knowledge of company SOPs and adheres to guidelines. Shares with crew through application of SOPs in daily activities.
- Responsible for the development of technicians (crew), encouraging opportunities for growth.
- Expertise in the use of hand tools, power tools, and other miscellaneous equipment to complete the job.
- Good grasp of the English language (read, write, verbal).
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Able to pass a Respirator Physical and obtain a respiratory fit exam.
- Can interpret and apply complex plans/details/instructions (i.e., Material Data Sheets) in daily activities, with the ability to articulate and communicate same to crew.
- Industry certifications preferred, with the ability to pass medical exams if required for certification.
- May require travel (domestic/international) depending on assigned department/branch.
- Repetitive L/R hand motion (use of hand and power tools).
- Agility: bend, squat, crawl, climb stairs, ladders, spaces, twist, pushing, pulling, reach down and overhead.
- Requires ability to lift heavy objects frequently (up to 50lbs).
- Can work in confined spaces.
- Can work in unsanitary conditions, regularly.
- Required OT for scheduled work, after-hour response, and weekend options available.
