Job Overview

The Clinical Dietitian is responsible for delivering comprehensive nutritional care to patients. This role ensures that the dietary needs of each patient are adequately addressed while maintaining precise documentation regarding their nutritional status. The Clinical Dietitian plans and executes initiatives related to patient nutrition, adhering to the standards set forth by Aramark Healthcare and relevant regulatory bodies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain necessary dietetic registration, licensure, and continuing education as mandated by governing bodies.
  • Conduct thorough nutrition assessments for patients, which may encompass both inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Develop and implement nutrition intervention strategies in alignment with the Nutrition Care Process.
  • Engage in patient rounding to enhance satisfaction and address concerns.
  • Identify educational needs and potential barriers to effective learning.
  • Provide individualized nutrition counseling for patients and groups, adapting teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Utilize assessment techniques that respect the unique needs of various age groups and cultural backgrounds.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of educational objectives achieved by patients and their families.
  • Ensure appropriate follow-up in accordance with treatment goals, referring patients to outpatient services as necessary.
  • Deliver exceptional operational performance by adhering to Aramark Healthcare standards and regulatory guidelines, continuously monitoring service quality.
  • Collaborate with medical and nutrition services staff to ensure compliance with prescribed dietary orders.
  • Educate staff on food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety protocols.
  • Document nutrition care plans accurately in patient medical records, including assessments, diagnoses, and progress towards goals.
  • Maintain productivity standards and accurate records of clinical activities, including scheduling and billing information.
  • Uphold confidentiality and proper handling of patient health information.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience is required.
  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with coursework recognized by relevant nutrition and dietetics agencies.
  • Must obtain and maintain relevant certifications and licenses as required by local regulatory agencies.
  • Eligibility to practice dietetics in the applicable geographic area.

Work Environment

This position may involve working in busy hospital and outpatient settings, requiring movement between patient care areas and food service locations.
