Job Title: Dietetic Technician - Nutrition Care Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Dietetic Technician to join our team at Diverse Lynx. As a Dietetic Technician, you will play a critical role in providing nutrition care services to patients and clients, working in conjunction with registered dietitian nutritionists and other healthcare providers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides nutrition care services to patients and clients, addressing prevention and treatment of acute and chronic diseases and conditions, and promoting overall health and wellness.
  • Participates in enteral feeding preparation, adhering to aseptic technique and regulatory standards.
  • Adheres to standards of food safety and sanitation, best practices for formula and human milk preparation, and departmental and hospital policies and procedures.
  • Assists in developing education and other projects related to nutrition and lactation.
  • Participates in maintenance of human milk inventory, assists with human milk shipment and safe disposal, and adheres to standards for transport and shipment of human milk.
  • Collaborates with other members of the healthcare team to provide comprehensive patient care.
  • Participates in ongoing quality assurance and performance improvement activities.
  • Maintains productivity, screening, and other documentation of activities.
  • Participates in training other employees as requested.
  • Maintains confidentiality of patient information.

Requirements:

  • Prior work experience in a hospital setting or WIC program.
  • Dietetic Technician-Registered (DTR) certification.
  • Basic knowledge and application of medical nutrition therapy in pediatric patients.
  • Basic knowledge of nutrient analysis, word processing, and spreadsheet software.
  • Competence in nutritional content, sources, and use of commercial supplements, tube feedings, human milk, infant formulas, and feeding modulars.
  • Ability to perform increasingly complex mathematical calculations.
  • Computer proficiency.

Education:

Associate's Degree in Nutrition or related program by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
