Geosyntec Consultants is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Project Engineer to enhance our dams engineering and dam safety division in our California offices. Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee project scoping, execution, management, and delivery of multiple concurrent assignments;
  • Contribute to the expansion of our practice through recruitment, team building, and mentorship;
  • Assess geotechnical elements of projects involving earthen structures and associated infrastructure;
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement risk-informed decision-making processes for dams and related systems;
  • Facilitate geotechnical site evaluations and characterizations;
  • Engage in fieldwork and travel for site inspections;
  • Assist in developing business opportunities and preparing proposals for new and existing clients;
  • Support the preparation of engineering documentation, design calculations, drawings, and specifications;
  • Deliver presentations and engage in technical discussions with clients and colleagues;
  • Participate in health and safety training, medical monitoring, and client-required background checks.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related discipline (required);
  • Advanced degree in the same field (preferred);
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) registration (preferred);
Experience and Skills
  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, with 8+ years preferred;
  • Proficiency in modeling and design software such as AUTOCAD, Slope/W, Sigma/W, FLAC, and ARCGIS (preferred);
  • Strong writing and communication abilities (required);
  • Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams (required);
  • Willingness to travel for fieldwork (required);
  • Active involvement in professional organizations or trade associations (preferred);
  • Valid U.S. driver's license with a clean driving record for business travel (required).
