Starting salary is $66,560 and is based on experience.

Compensation considers various factors including but not limited to a candidate's experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs. Base pay is just one component of the comprehensive rewards program offered by Carlton Senior Living. Eligible positions also qualify for an extensive benefits package.

Job Summary

This position involves overseeing tasks, supervising staff, and coordinating activities related to the maintenance and repair of building structures, various equipment, building systems, and grounds upkeep.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include the Following. Other duties may be assigned. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.
  • Directs and assists workers in tasks such as painting, performing non-structural repairs, drywall, masonry, woodwork, and furnishings of buildings.
  • Knowledgeable in apartment turnover procedures.
  • Strong understanding of priorities associated with Assisted and Memory Care Senior Living.
  • Maintains an organized and up-to-date filing system.
  • Oversees landscaping contractors engaged in grounds maintenance activities such as mowing, trimming, weeding, and leaf disposal, addressing special project needs as they arise.
  • Requests tools, equipment, and supplies exceeding purchasing limits or outside the departmental budget.
  • Inspects completed work for compliance with company specifications and standards.
  • Analyzes production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for job assignments.
  • Interprets company policies to staff and enforces safety regulations.
  • Adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Recommends changes in working conditions and equipment use to enhance crew efficiency.
  • Identifies and resolves work-related issues or assists staff in problem-solving.
  • Initiates plans to motivate staff to achieve work objectives.
  • Maintains time and production records.
  • Collaborates with other supervisors to coordinate departmental activities.
  • Performs tasks of supervised workers and provides instructional training.
  • Handles daily payroll edits and adjusts records as necessary.
  • Monitors the work environment for potential safety hazards and implements preventative measures.
  • May be required to provide tours of the community to prospective residents as part of the backup tour team.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and training staff; planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving issues.
  • May handle daily payroll edits and adjust records as necessary.
  • Monitors the work environment for potential safety hazards and implements preventative measures.
  • Able to read and write reports, business correspondence, memos, and performance evaluations.
  • May manage staff schedules.
Qualifications
  • Communication Skills
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
    • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
    • Ability to effectively communicate before groups of customers or employees.
    • Must be able to communicate effectively in English to ensure the safety and well-being of residents.
    • Ability to interact positively with residents, family members, staff, and prospective residents.
  • Reasoning Ability
    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions.
    • Must be able to prioritize workloads and demonstrate sound judgment.
  • Education and Experience
    • High school diploma or GED.
    • Two years of relevant education and/or experience.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
    • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age according to Title 22 requirements.
  • Mathematical Skills
    • Ability to perform basic mathematics - addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
    • Ability to perform these operations using units of American currency and measurements.
    • Must be able to understand and manage budgets.
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
    • Current First Aid Certification (obtained through the community).
    • DOJ and FBI fingerprint clearance must be completed prior to employment.
    • Health screening and negative TB test must be less than six (6) months old (obtained through the community).

Compensation may vary based on several factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the total package provided to recognize employees for their contributions, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives.
