Ameriprise Financial - Senior Financial Analyst

Ameriprise Financial presents an exciting opportunity for a Senior Financial Analyst. This role involves conducting comprehensive business performance evaluations, utilizing trend analysis to understand business implications.

The focus will be on analyzing and managing data to inform strategic business decisions. You will take ownership of key data sources, ensuring easy access to necessary information for fulfilling requests and supporting data inquiries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate routine reports through variance analysis, emphasizing the provision of business context.
  • Assist in crafting insightful commentary regarding business outcomes.
  • Conduct independent analyses using diverse data sources to identify root causes and monitor the impact of previous decisions.
  • Enhance, develop, and operate reporting models to analyze results and perform variance assessments.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for the data repository system during the quarterly earnings process.
  • Independently create models ranging from simple to complex to project future business implications.
  • Conduct thorough postmortem analyses to evaluate the effects of past business decisions.
  • Review financial and metric results with clarity and coherence.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a financial or quantitative discipline.
  • 2-5 years of demonstrated experience in a financial or analytical capacity.
  • Proven ability to execute financial modeling tasks and analyses using spreadsheets and/or other tools.
  • Experience applying accounting and financial principles to interpret and resolve business challenges.
  • Capability to produce outputs that support decision-making processes.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present findings effectively to management.
  • Advanced skills in financial modeling and analysis using spreadsheets and/or other tools.
  • Excellent interpersonal and business acumen to collaborate with and support senior leaders across the organization.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Possession of an MBA or other advanced degree/certification.
  • Experience in cultivating relationships that influence and establish credibility across the organization, including with business partners and senior finance leadership.
