Job Summary

Kitsap Mental Health Services is seeking a skilled and compassionate Paraprofessional to join our team. As a Paraprofessional, you will play a vital role in providing ongoing supervision and therapeutic support for consumers enrolled in our Day Treatment Program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a Positive and Structured Environment: Assist other program staff in creating a positive, structured, and therapeutic milieu that meets the emotional, developmental, and educational needs of our students.
  • Direct Observation and Intervention: Provide direct observation of students within the milieu and participate in 1:1 intervention to encourage compliance with program expectations, identify and process barriers to successful completion, and assist students in dealing with conflict and improving their behavior.
  • Crisis Intervention and Support: Provide immediate, therapeutic crisis interventions as necessary and work with the team to implement behavioral programs and intervention plans.
  • Documentation and Communication: Ensure that all paperwork is completed in a timely and accurate manner and provide input into daily and weekly student summaries and level rating forms.
  • Team Collaboration: Support other school programs as needed and work collaboratively with the team to achieve program goals.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience: Entry-level (1 year of prior experience working with children)
  • Licenses and Certifications: Valid driver's license, Washington Food Handler card, and Agency Affiliated Counselor Registration
