Finance Operations Specialist - Full Time

Compensation Range: $24.58 per hour

This is a full-time role within our organization.

Overview of Responsibilities: To manage vendor invoices for payment and maintain associated records. To enhance the operations of Kitsap Mental Health Services in alignment with its mission. To deliver exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.

Supervisory Duties: None

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process vendor invoices for payment in accordance with accounting department protocols. Maintain accounts payable documentation.
  • Ensure accurate cost allocations to departments using the chart of accounts, expense definitions, and budgetary information.
  • Execute payments promptly to avoid late fees. Prepare invoices for payment weekly and ensure all supporting documentation is appropriately filed.
  • Follow up with approvers to guarantee timely approval and processing of all invoices.
  • Assist in gathering information for the annual audit.
  • Utilize creativity to enhance processes that support agency objectives.
  • Update the procedure manual when changes occur.
  • Provide training for personnel managing agency petty cash accounts, assisting them in recording necessary petty cash replenishments and counts per policy.
  • Timely processing of end-of-month invoices and accurate recording in the correct fiscal period for month-end closing.
  • Maintain records in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and the company's retention policy.
  • Perform additional responsibilities relevant to the position as needed.
Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED. Two years of accounting coursework or relevant experience preferred. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Familiarity with accrual accounting and payables is desirable. Proficiency in integrated computer systems and Excel is preferred. Ability to apply creative problem-solving techniques.

Preferred Qualifications:

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.

EXPERIENCE: Intermediate (minimum 3 years of relevant experience)

Experience with UKG software.
