Educational Support Specialist
Salary Range: $20.07/hr. - $24.58/hr.

The Educational Support Specialist is responsible for providing ongoing supervision and therapeutic assistance for individuals enrolled in the Day Treatment Program.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support program staff in creating a positive, structured, and therapeutic environment that meets the emotional, developmental, and educational needs of students. Collaborate with team members to maintain an aesthetically pleasing and supportive setting.
  • Conduct direct observation of students within the environment. Engage in one-on-one interventions to promote compliance with program expectations and to identify and address barriers to successful program completion. Assist students in managing conflicts, expressing themselves appropriately, and enhancing their behavior.
  • Provide immediate therapeutic crisis interventions as needed.
  • Collaborate with the team to implement behavioral programs and intervention strategies. Contribute to daily and weekly student summaries and level rating assessments.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of all required documentation.
  • Support additional school programs as necessary.
  • Perform any other relevant responsibilities as assigned that align with the position.
Minimum Qualifications:

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED

EXPERIENCE: Entry-level (1 year of experience working with children)

Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Valid Food Handler card required.

LICENSURE: Agency Affiliated Counselor Registration

As per regulations, employees of contractors with school districts who have regular unsupervised access to children must undergo FBI fingerprinting.

Kitsap Mental Health Services requires a Food Handler's Permit, preferred for specific programs.
