Job Overview

Position Title: Customer Relations Specialist

Reports To: Store Manager/Pharmacists In Charge

Objective: To enhance the operations of the Midwest Family Health team by fulfilling designated responsibilities that foster proactive engagement and the development of well-trained teams, aligned with the company's mission, vision, and values.

Qualifications: Previous experience in pharmacy, retail sales, or customer service is preferred.

Additional Requirements: A valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle are mandatory.

  • Effectively manage multiple tasks within set timeframes.

  • Ensure timely follow-up and completion of assigned tasks.
  • Possess advanced skills in computer usage and data entry.
  • Operate basic office equipment such as copiers, faxes, and telephones.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word, proficiently.
  • Learn to operate Pioneer Rx software effectively.
  • Communicate professionally with pharmacists, healthcare professionals, patients, and colleagues.
  • Accurately operate cash registers and 10-key calculators.
  • Exhibit strong mathematical and verbal communication skills.
  • Be capable of sitting or standing for extended periods.
  • Perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders and maneuvering in confined spaces.
  • Meet vision and hearing requirements as necessary.
  • Lift items weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • Fluently read, write, and speak English.
  • Possess good short and long-term memory.
  • Recognize personal limitations and seek assistance when needed.
  • Adhere to legal and company policies and procedures.
Primary Duties:
  • Assist customers in selecting products.
  • Utilize the Point-of-Sale system for processing transactions.
  • Support inventory management including receiving and restocking items.
  • Engage in marketing and promotional activities.
  • Handle incoming phone inquiries.
  • Deliver prescriptions to customers within designated areas.
  • Perform general housekeeping tasks.
Potential Career Development:
  • Answer calls and address inquiries that do not require a pharmacist's expertise.
  • Process written prescriptions and refill requests.
  • Gather necessary information for prescription preparation.
  • Maintain accurate records for dispensed prescriptions.
  • Assist in the preparation and labeling of medications.
  • Ensure pharmacy supplies are adequately stocked.
  • Manage prescription orders and check-in processes.
  • Prepare insurance claims and verify payments.
  • Assist patients in locating over-the-counter medications.
  • Conduct inventory checks for expired medications.
  • Support nursing home medication preparations.
  • Maintain immunization records and schedules.
  • Prepare for Medication Therapy Management appointments.
  • Assist with Comprehensive Medication Review sessions.
  • Perform housekeeping within the pharmacy area.
Other Considerations:
  • Occasional use of a personal vehicle may be required, with mileage reimbursed at the federal rate.
  • Potential for after-hours on-call duties in rotation with other staff.
  • Adhere to all legal and company policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned to ensure smooth operations.
