Business Development Representative

About the RoleWe're seeking a highly motivated and results-driven individual to join our team. As a Business Development Representative, you'll be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, building relationships with key customers, and driving sales growth.
Key Responsibilities- Prospect for new business opportunities within our target market
- Cold call on prospective clients and develop strategic relationships
- Follow up and qualify sales leads
- Make professional presentations on products and programs
- Develop and maintain relationships with key customer personnel
- Identify client needs and provide quotes and product data as needed
- Closes sales and follows through to ensure appropriate delivery
- Support Operations and A/R efforts
- Work with Sales Center, Regional, and Divisional managers to grow the business
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in professional-level business-to-business sales
- A proven track record of successful sales in a wholesale environment
- Ability to cold call on prospective clients
- A strong knowledge of one or more of the following product lines: pool-related equipment, plumbing supplies, tile, decking, exterior lighting, patio furniture, construction materials, building supplies, chemicals, landscaping/irrigation supplies, HVAC supplies, or similar tangible goods
- Holds a valid driver's license, a "satisfactory" driving record (no more than 2 violations within 3 years), and is willing to travel within a designated area
- Occasionally lift and move up to 75 pounds
- Strong computer skills, including knowledge of MS Office WORD and EXCEL
- Knowledge of AMP or similar customer management system preferred
- Knowledge of Prelude or similar inventory control software helpful
