About the Role

We're seeking a highly motivated and results-driven individual to join our team. As a Business Development Representative, you'll be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, building relationships with key customers, and driving sales growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prospect for new business opportunities within our target market
  • Cold call on prospective clients and develop strategic relationships
  • Follow up and qualify sales leads
  • Make professional presentations on products and programs
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key customer personnel
  • Identify client needs and provide quotes and product data as needed
  • Closes sales and follows through to ensure appropriate delivery
  • Support Operations and A/R efforts
  • Work with Sales Center, Regional, and Divisional managers to grow the business
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in professional-level business-to-business sales
  • A proven track record of successful sales in a wholesale environment
  • Ability to cold call on prospective clients
  • A strong knowledge of one or more of the following product lines: pool-related equipment, plumbing supplies, tile, decking, exterior lighting, patio furniture, construction materials, building supplies, chemicals, landscaping/irrigation supplies, HVAC supplies, or similar tangible goods
  • Holds a valid driver's license, a "satisfactory" driving record (no more than 2 violations within 3 years), and is willing to travel within a designated area
  • Occasionally lift and move up to 75 pounds
  • Strong computer skills, including knowledge of MS Office WORD and EXCEL
  • Knowledge of AMP or similar customer management system preferred
  • Knowledge of Prelude or similar inventory control software helpful
