About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Business Development Representative to join our team at POOLCORP. As a Business Development Representative, you will be responsible for identifying and negotiating strategic relationships with current customers and developing new business relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prospect for potential new clients within our target market, including Pool & Spa Retailers, Pool Builders, and Pool & Spa Maintenance firms.
  • Cold call on and market to prospective clients to drive sales growth.
  • Follow up and qualify sales leads to ensure a strong pipeline of potential customers.
  • Make professional presentations on products and programs to showcase our offerings and build relationships with key customer personnel.
  • Identify client needs and provide quotes and product data as needed to support sales efforts.
  • Closing sales and following through to ensure timely delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Support Operations and A/R efforts to drive business growth and improve customer experience.
  • Collaborate with Sales Center, Regional, and Divisional managers to develop and implement sales strategies.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in professional-level business-to-business sales.
  • A proven track record of successful sales in a wholesale environment.
  • Ability to cold call on prospective clients and build relationships.
  • A strong knowledge of one or more of the following product lines: pool-related equipment, plumbing supplies, tile, decking, exterior lighting, patio furniture, construction materials, building supplies, chemicals, landscaping/irrigation supplies, HVAC supplies, or similar tangible goods.
  • Holds a valid driver's license and a "satisfactory" driving record (no more than 2 violations within 3 years).
  • Ability to travel within a designated area and occasionally lift and move up to 75 pounds.
  • Strong computer skills, including knowledge of MS Office WORD and EXCEL.
  • Knowledge of AMP or similar customer management system preferred.
  • Knowledge of Prelude or similar inventory control software helpful.
