Position Overview

Role Summary:

The Inventory Management Specialist will be responsible for overseeing and directing inventory control activities within our comprehensive beverage can manufacturing and logistics operations. This position is vital for ensuring precise inventory counts, guaranteeing material availability, and enhancing production efficiency. The Inventory Management Specialist will collaborate closely with multiple departments to synchronize inventory strategies with the broader business objectives. This role will report to the Operations Compliance Supervisor, who in turn reports to the Vice President of Logistics.

Work Schedule:

Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Flexibility to work additional hours, including weekends and holidays, as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain precise inventory documentation through regular cycle counts and targeted assessments.
  • Lead the Cycle Count team to prioritize and effectively execute both cycle and directed counts.
  • Ensure inventory levels align with production requirements while minimizing excess stock and shortages.
  • Collaborate with Business Operations Leadership on reconciliation, inventory analysis, and reporting related to the Cycle Count Program.
  • Identify trends in inventory discrepancies and partner with relevant stakeholders to conduct Root Cause Analysis, implement Corrective Actions, and perform future process audits.
  • Work alongside production and logistics teams to align inventory needs and support ongoing improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and execute strategies for enhancing inventory control processes to boost performance, accuracy, efficiency, and cost reduction.
  • Actively engage in efforts to refine inventory processes and systems.
  • Ensure adherence to all safety standards and protocols concerning inventory management and storage.
  • Maintain thorough documentation for all inventory transactions and generate reports for management review.
  • Support production and logistics teams by ensuring they have the necessary materials for optimal operations.
  • Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as inventory accuracy rates, completion of counts, reduction in downtime due to inventory issues, turnover ratios, cost-saving achievements, cycle count efficiency, safety compliance, and overall inventory control productivity.

Qualifications:

Skills and Knowledge:

Strong analytical capabilities and the ability to interpret data for informed decision-making are essential. Excellent communication and teamwork skills are required to ensure smooth interactions with colleagues and vendors. Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail are critical for maintaining accurate inventory records and supporting efficient operations.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook is required, with experience in ERP systems being advantageous.

Educational Background:

A Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience in a manufacturing setting with prior experience in inventory management, preferably within a manufacturing or logistics context.
