As a pivotal player in the Utah Transit Authority (UTA), a leading transit organization in a rapidly expanding area of the United States, we are seeking a dedicated Warehouse and Inventory Operations Manager. In this influential role, you will oversee UTA's supply chain operations, leading a diverse team to ensure seamless functionality across various locations. You will have the chance to introduce innovative inventory management strategies, engage with advanced automated storage technologies, and significantly enhance operational efficiency and safety. Your contributions will be vital to UTA's mission of maintaining effective and efficient operations. Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise warehouse and parts room personnel, including warehouse supervisors, parts room supervisors, and staff, while managing inventory operations across all UTA locations.
  • Establish and enforce inventory management best practices, ensuring adherence across all warehouse and parts room sites.
  • Oversee the functionality and upkeep of automated storage systems, including software management and equipment maintenance.
  • Identify and mitigate safety and environmental risks within shipping, receiving, and parts distribution operations.
  • Design and implement effective layout and space management strategies for warehouse and parts room facilities.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts, annual physical inventories, and strict inventory control measures.
  • Provide comprehensive training on Supply Chain policies and procedures to staff.
  • Develop and monitor inventory control metrics, analyze performance trends, and apply best practices to enhance efficiency in warehouse and parts distribution.
Minimum QualificationsExperience:
  • A minimum of five years in materials management or supervisory roles, ideally in parts handling and inventory control with a proven track record of success.
  • Five years of supervisory experience, preferably in a unionized environment.
  • Prior experience in customer service managing multiple client relationships.
  • Experience in supervising automated material handling systems is preferred.
  • Two years of experience in maintenance or fleet management is a plus.
Education and Licenses:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management or a related field is preferred.
  • A valid driver's license is required, with no more than four moving violations in the past three years; non-drivers must demonstrate efficient travel capabilities within UTA's service area.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong understanding of Lean Supply Chain Principles.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and process improvement capabilities.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills.
