Role Responsibilities

The Cost Manager will be instrumental in overseeing and executing cost management services. This position will engage with various sectors within our expanding New York Real Estate team, offering significant opportunities for professional growth and advancement.

Pre-Contract Responsibilities
  • Develop and review construction estimates and cost plans.
  • Conduct project feasibility analyses with comprehensive benchmark cost data.
  • Present cost estimates and plans to design teams and clients.
  • Lead value engineering discussions, providing informed advice on potential cost-saving measures.
  • Assist in formulating procurement strategies and preparing related reports.
  • Participate actively in design team meetings.
  • Conduct detailed tender analyses and lead post-tender clarification meetings to align bids prior to contract finalization.
  • Review and comment on contractual documents.
Post-Contract Responsibilities
  • Evaluate contractor and subcontractor pricing.
  • Negotiate on behalf of the client.
  • Assess contractor and subcontractor payment applications and submissions.
  • Evaluate changes post-contract.
  • Ensure that post-contract changes are managed in accordance with the change management process.
  • Provide early warnings to clients regarding potential cost risks.
  • Prepare and review construction financial reports at both project and portfolio levels.
  • Oversee the final account process, ensuring timely completion and agreement.
Qualifications
  • 2-5 years of experience in estimating is required; comprehensive cost management experience is preferred.
  • Experience in commercial construction projects is essential.
  • Strong communication skills are a must.
  • Excellent organizational abilities and capability to manage multiple tasks.
  • A degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering, or a related field is required.
  • RICS accreditation is preferred but not mandatory.
Additional Information

The salary range for this full-time position is $110K-$130K annually. This range reflects base salary only and is determined by role and level, representing a good faith effort to provide equitable compensation. Turner & Townsend reserves the right to adjust this range based on the candidate's experience and qualifications.
