Job Overview:

We are in search of a dynamic and seasoned Senior Tax Manager to become a vital part of our Finance team. This permanent position presents an exciting opportunity to thrive in a fast-paced, high-performance setting. The Senior Tax Manager will oversee the tax department, ensuring compliance with all relevant tax regulations. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader with a strategic outlook, capable of driving change and enhancing operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage all tax operations, including planning, compliance, and research.
  • Formulate and execute strategic tax planning for federal and state tax obligations.
  • Supervise tax team members in preparing components of the company's federal and state tax returns.
  • Coordinate and manage IRS income tax audits, including preparing responses and creating schedules.
  • Stay informed on legislative and regulatory tax law changes, communicating their implications to management and the tax team, and developing strategies to leverage these changes.
  • Assist with various internal audits and special tax-related projects.
  • Review tax returns and quarterly/yearly tax forecasts.
  • Oversee tax planning and audit processes.
  • Maintain tax balances on the general ledger.
  • Prepare all tax documentation regularly and manage information data requests.
  • Act as a primary contact and manage relationships with external auditors and tax advisors.
  • Lead and mentor tax team members to enhance performance.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a Master's degree in Taxation is advantageous.
  • Active CPA License is mandatory.
  • 5+ years of experience in a tax manager or public accounting role.
  • Extensive experience in various tax operations with a focus on process improvements.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Proficient in managing multiple business interests.
  • In-depth knowledge of tax codes, compliance, and corporate procedures.
  • Familiarity with U.S. federal, state, and local reporting requirements.
  • Expertise in tax planning, strategic planning, and addressing complex tax issues.
  • Demonstrated leadership and personnel management capabilities.
  • Analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel) and knowledgeable in relevant software (e.g., TaxTron).
  • Strong understanding of accounting software and its applications.
