Job Overview

We are in search of a proactive and seasoned Senior Tax Manager to become a vital part of our Finance team. This permanent position offers an exciting opportunity to thrive in a dynamic, high-performance environment. The Senior Tax Manager will oversee the tax department and ensure compliance with all relevant tax regulations. The ideal candidate will exhibit strong leadership qualities and a strategic approach to drive operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise all tax functions, including planning, compliance, and research.
  • Formulate and execute strategic tax planning for federal and state tax obligations.
  • Lead the tax team in preparing components of the company's federal and state tax returns.
  • Manage and facilitate IRS income tax audits, including preparing responses and creating schedules.
  • Stay informed on legislative and regulatory tax law changes, communicating their implications to management and the tax team, and devising strategies to leverage these changes.
  • Assist with various internal audits and special tax-related initiatives.
  • Review tax returns and quarterly/yearly tax forecasts.
  • Coordinate tax planning and audits.
  • Maintain tax balances on the general ledger.
  • Regularly prepare tax documentation and manage information data requests.
  • Act as a primary contact and manage relationships with external auditors and tax advisors.
  • Mentor and lead tax team members to enhance performance.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; a Master's degree in Taxation is advantageous.
  • Active CPA License is mandatory.
  • 5+ years of experience in a tax manager or public accounting capacity.
  • Extensive experience with diverse tax operations and a proven ability to implement process improvements.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Experience managing multiple business interests.
  • In-depth knowledge of tax codes, compliance, and corporate procedures.
  • Familiarity with U.S. federal, state, and local reporting requirements.
  • Proficient in tax planning, strategic planning, and navigating complex tax issues.
  • Demonstrated leadership and personnel management capabilities.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel) and knowledgeable in relevant software (e.g., TaxTron).
  • Strong understanding of accounting software and MS Office applications.
