About the Role

System Soft Technologies is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Developer to join our team and contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of our proprietary ERP system. As a key member of our IT department, you will work closely with our team to ensure the system is optimized and scalable, meeting the evolving needs of our business.

Key Responsibilities
  • ERP System Maintenance and Enhancement: Develop and implement software solutions to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our ERP system, built in VB.Net and Visual Studio.
  • Backend Development: Actively contribute to meaningful projects in a 90% backend/10% frontend development environment, leveraging your expertise in VB.Net, Visual Studio, and SQL databases.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Collaborate closely with a small, focused team to develop new software programs and improve business operations, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
  • Troubleshooting and Support: Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to the ERP system and other business-critical software, providing timely and effective support to the organization.
  • IT-Related Tasks: Assist in various IT-related tasks, including user support, hardware maintenance, and cybersecurity efforts, ensuring the integrity and security of our systems.
  • Database Management: Participate in database management tasks, ensuring optimal performance and integrity, and providing technical support to the organization.
Requirements
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on backend development.
  • Expertise: Expertise in VB.Net, Visual Studio, and SQL databases, with proficiency in React and experience with DB2 on IBM i (AS400) and Windows OS.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of DB2 on IBM i (AS400) and Windows OS, experience with RPG programming (legacy systems), and excellent problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Work Environment and Benefits
  • Work Environment: Start onsite full-time at Wooster, Ohio; hybrid option available after 6 months (2 days remote, 3 days onsite).
