Position Overview:

We are in search of a proactive and seasoned Senior Tax Manager to become a vital part of our Finance team. This permanent role presents an exciting opportunity to thrive in a dynamic, high-performance setting. The Senior Tax Manager will oversee the tax department and ensure compliance with all relevant tax regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a strategic mindset, driving operational efficiency and fostering change.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage all tax operations, including planning, compliance, and research.
  • Develop and execute strategic tax planning for federal and state tax obligations.
  • Supervise the tax team in preparing components of the company's federal and state tax returns.
  • Coordinate and manage IRS income tax audits, including preparation of responses and schedules.
  • Stay informed on legislative and regulatory tax law changes, communicating impacts to management and the tax team, while formulating strategies to leverage these changes.
  • Assist with various internal audits and special tax-related initiatives.
  • Review tax returns and quarterly/yearly tax forecasts.
  • Oversee tax planning and audit processes.
  • Maintain accurate tax balances in the general ledger.
  • Regularly prepare tax documentation and manage information requests.
  • Act as a primary contact for external auditors and tax advisors.
  • Lead and mentor tax team members to enhance their performance.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; a Master's degree in Taxation is advantageous.
  • Active CPA License is mandatory.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a tax manager or public accounting role.
  • Extensive experience in various tax operations with a focus on process improvement.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Experience managing multiple business interests.
  • In-depth knowledge of tax codes, compliance, and corporate procedures.
  • Familiarity with U.S. federal, state, and local reporting requirements.
  • Proficient in tax planning, strategic planning, and addressing complex tax issues.
  • Demonstrated leadership and personnel management capabilities.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel) and knowledgeable in relevant software (e.g., TaxTron).
  • Solid understanding of accounting software and MS Office applications.
