The Assistant Director of Nursing is a professional nurse who oversees the daily operations of a pediatric department(s) in collaboration with the Director of Nursing to provide high-quality patient care while meeting organizational, legal, and medical staff goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Director of Nursing in promoting efficient operations to deliver effective nursing care in a pediatric department(s).
- Co-manage the department and work independently under the guidance of the Director of Nursing.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies, The Joint Commission, and the Nurse Practice Act.
- Promote optimum healthcare delivery within budgetary guidelines.
- Provide leadership and organization of day-to-day operations by working cooperatively with ancillary services and the interdisciplinary team.
- Partner with the Director of Nursing and be responsible for department(s) on a 24-hour basis.
- Serve as a consultant with patients' home nursing facilities, nursing staff, and physicians.
