Role Summary

The Business Operations & Analytics team is essential in addressing our most intricate operational challenges, product insights, and customer analytics. Team members are integrated within various functions, leveraging our data stack and a diverse array of analytical tools to derive insights and drive decision-making. They also oversee cross-functional project management in specific areas, collaborating closely with growth leads in B2B Sales, B2C Sales, Product, Marketing, and Customer Success.

The Director of this team is a pivotal role, serving as a key partner to our leadership team. This individual will be responsible for shaping our data vision, advocating for data-driven strategies throughout the organization, and navigating constraints to determine the appropriate tools for diverse challenges. A deep understanding of our data, customers, and products will be crucial in influencing our strategic direction and overall success.

Candidate Profile

Ideal candidates will possess a minimum of 10 years of experience tackling complex business challenges in analytical capacities. Familiarity with a broad spectrum of analytical tools, including SQL, Tableau, Heap, R/Python, and Excel, is essential, with expertise in at least two of these tools. Candidates should demonstrate curiosity and analytical prowess, coupled with a collaborative spirit, as cross-functional partnerships and effective stakeholder communication are vital for success in this role. The ability to oscillate between strategic planning and the execution of queries and dashboards for daily operations is necessary, along with a passion for mentoring team members.

Experience in a technology-driven environment, knowledge of SaaS KPIs, and familiarity with consumer sales and marketing metrics will enhance your effectiveness in this position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of our product offerings, customer base, technology stacks, and data infrastructure to inform business judgment and hypotheses.
  • Collaborate with organizational leaders to proactively address our most critical inquiries regarding product and business performance.
  • Continuously adjust priorities for insights exploration or investigative questions based on shifting business objectives and performance metrics.
  • Simplify complex analyses into actionable insights and communicate them effectively to influence organizational decisions.
  • Create and enhance dashboards for execution leads to facilitate ongoing KPI monitoring.
  • Lead and champion significant scale projects (e.g., new processes, products, software, training) to improve our ability to answer questions swiftly and accurately.
  • Refine and establish new business operations processes to address bottlenecks and enhance data visibility.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering leaders to develop and refine a data infrastructure vision that aligns with our accounting, finance, insights, and analytics objectives; adapt as we grow through acquisitions and expand into new brands or product categories.
