Join the University of Tennessee's Mechanical Aerospace & Biomedical Engineering department as an Administrative Associate. This role will support the Undergraduate Programs, working closely with the Associate Head for Undergraduate Programs and other departmental staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate critical departmental deadlines and handle requests for appointments and meetings for the Associate Department Head.
  • Arrange departmental and college meetings, ensuring efficient use of time and resources.
  • Ensure MABE Department courses are accurate on the timetable by comparing spreadsheets with course information.
  • Control registration for specific courses to maintain parity among sections.
  • Monitor course section capacities during peak registration times.
  • Maintain student email lists and send out departmental news and updates.
  • Set registration permissions for Undergraduate students.
  • Assist with sorting students into design teams and collaborating with Graduate Programs coordinators.
  • Provide administrative support to associate department heads and faculty.
  • Organize MABE participation in college-led activities and maintain records of faculty participation in commencement.
Requirements and Skills:
  • Associate's degree and 2 years of office experience or 4+ years of administrative experience.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong time management and communication skills.
  • Ability to interact with diverse individuals and multitask.
  • Customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience with Banner, IRIS, and UT policies.
  • Experience in higher education.
