Patient Services Representative

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Services Representative to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a key member of our patient services team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patients, families, and healthcare providers.
Key Responsibilities- Register patients accurately and efficiently, verifying demographic and billing information.
- Coordinate scheduling of patient appointments, including phone and in-person requests.
- Answer multiple incoming telephone lines, determining the appropriate recipient of the call and referring them promptly and appropriately.
- Distribute communications accurately, based on practice protocol, including pagers, faxes, and emails.
- Resolve patient questions and concerns, including HMO referrals, billing, and queries about services and test results.
- Schedule future appointments and requisitions, laboratory tests, radiology procedures, and other special diagnostic tests as needed.
- Notify patient care areas when patients have arrived and are ready to be seen.
- Ensure accurate identification of patient insurance types and verify eligibility as necessary.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- One to two years of related customer service experience preferred.
- Experience handling difficult callers, customers, or patients.
- CRT/PC experience in a customer service setting.
- Working knowledge of eClinicalWorks and scheduling sections of the eClinicalWorks system preferred.
