Key Responsibilities of the HR Specialist:
- Ensure compliance with company policies, guidelines, and procedures
- Lead investigations into workplace issues related to discipline and grievances, providing actionable recommendations
- Engage in conflict resolution initiatives, including mediation and corrective actions
- Perform general HR functions such as training, coaching, terminations, and conducting exit interviews
- Assist in negotiating service contracts
- Oversee employee benefits programs, including health insurance and retirement plans
- Maintain and update employee records in company databases, ensuring accurate reporting
- Facilitate new hire orientations for full-time staff
- Supervise workers' compensation claims, ensuring adherence to OSHA reporting standards
- Assist in the planning and coordination of employee social events
- Utilize HRIS systems to track and manage associate information
- Perform additional duties as required
Qualifications for the HR Specialist:
- Proficient bilingual communication skills in English and Spanish are mandatory
- A minimum of four years' experience in Human Resources, with a focus on conflict resolution and employee relations
- A four-year degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or a combination of a two-year degree with relevant work experience
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in a diverse work environment
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and thrive under pressure
- HR certifications such as PHR or SPHR are preferred
- A positive demeanor with a keen attention to detail
- This role is situated in a manufacturing and office environment. Candidates may be required to sit, stand, walk, lift up to 25 pounds, and perform various physical tasks as part of their duties.
