Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Human Resources Assistant to join our team at the Internal Revenue Service. As a key member of our Human Capital Office, you will play a critical role in supporting the delivery of HR services to our employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to HR Specialists and other team members, including processing personnel actions, reviewing records, and preparing summaries of information.
  • Conduct interviews to identify and organize pertinent facts of a situation, and respond to inquiries concerning HR entitlements and services.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures, and provide advice and guidance to employees on HR-related matters.
  • Perform a range of administrative tasks, including data entry, record-keeping, and report preparation.
  • Collaborate with other teams and stakeholders to achieve business objectives and improve HR services.
Requirements
  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-4 or GS-5) in the normal line of progression in the Federal service.
  • Knowledge of standard personnel-related procedures and requirements, as well as knowledge of personnel automated systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
