Position Overview:
The Trauma Quality Improvement Nurse Coordinator at Providence is a pivotal role designed for a dedicated nursing professional. This full-time position entails working 8-hour day shifts, focusing on enhancing trauma care quality at our esteemed medical center.


Key Responsibilities:
As a Clinical Coordinator, you will leverage your expertise to spearhead quality improvement initiatives for trauma patients. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting thorough reviews of patient records and quality metrics.
  • Analyzing data and presenting findings to the Trauma Committee.
  • Designing and executing injury prevention strategies based on local epidemiological insights.
  • Collaborating with the Trauma Program Manager and Medical Director to oversee the Trauma Service Performance Improvement and Patient Safety programs.
  • Abstracting clinical data from trauma patient records to facilitate quality enhancement.
  • Coordinating trauma education for healthcare professionals involved in trauma care, including EMS and emergency departments.
  • Facilitating trauma care coordination throughout the patient’s hospital stay.


Qualifications:
Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
  • California Registered Nurse License upon hire.
  • National Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association upon hire.
  • Completion of the Trauma Nursing Core Course within 6 months of hire.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in trauma, emergency, or critical care nursing within a healthcare setting.

Preferred:
  • Training in ICD-10 and Abbreviated Injury Scale (AIS) scoring.
  • Completion of the American Trauma Society Basic Trauma Registrar course.
  • Recent experience in emergency, critical care, or trauma nursing.
  • Familiarity with collector software and the State Trauma Registry.
  • Experience in conducting chart audits.
