Position Overview

The Trauma Quality Coordinator role at Providence Holy Cross Medical Center is designed for a dedicated Registered Nurse specializing in trauma care. This full-time position involves 8-hour day shifts, focusing on enhancing the quality of trauma services.

As a verified Level II Trauma Center, Providence Holy Cross is committed to delivering exceptional care to critically injured patients around the clock. Our multidisciplinary team, including surgeons, emergency physicians, and nursing professionals, is equipped to provide immediate and effective treatment for trauma cases. Our trauma surgeons hold dual board certifications in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care, ensuring the highest standards of care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate quality improvement initiatives within the trauma department.
  • Conduct data analysis and audits to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement best practices in trauma care.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and guidelines.
  • Facilitate training and education for nursing staff on trauma care protocols.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
  • Active California Registered Nurse License upon hire.
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Completion of the Trauma Nursing Core Course within 180 days of hire.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in trauma, emergency, or critical care nursing.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Training in ICD-10 and Abbreviated Injury Scale (AIS) scoring.
  • Completion of the American Trauma Society Basic Trauma Registrar course.
  • Recent experience in emergency or critical care nursing.
  • Familiarity with trauma registry software and chart audits.
