Position Overview

The Trauma Quality Coordinator role at Providence Holy Cross Medical Center is a full-time position focused on enhancing the quality of care provided to trauma patients. This position operates on 8-hour day shifts.

As a Level II Trauma Center, Providence Holy Cross is dedicated to delivering comprehensive care to critically injured patients around the clock. Our multidisciplinary team, which includes surgeons, emergency physicians, and nursing professionals, is equipped to provide immediate and effective treatment to trauma patients. Our trauma surgeons hold dual board certifications in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care, ensuring the highest standards of care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee quality improvement initiatives within the trauma department.
  • Conduct audits and assessments to ensure compliance with trauma care standards.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Provide education and training related to trauma care protocols.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
  • Active California Registered Nurse License upon hire.
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association upon hire.
  • Completion of the Trauma Nursing Core Course within 6 months of hire.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in trauma, emergency, or critical care nursing.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Training in ICD-10 and Abbreviated Injury Scale (AIS) scoring.
  • Completion of the American Trauma Society Basic Trauma Registrar course.
  • Recent experience in emergency or critical care nursing.
  • Familiarity with trauma registry software and chart audits.
