Position Summary:

We are in search of a proficient EH&S Manager with extensive experience in safety and environmental standards within the manufacturing sector. The successful candidate will oversee safety measures, ensure adherence to OSHA, EPA, and NFPA regulations, and promote environmentally responsible practices throughout our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Policy & Program Development
  1. Direct the formulation, execution, and upkeep of safety and environmental policies, procedures, and programs in accordance with OSHA, EPA, and NFPA standards.
Inspections & Audits
  1. Assess work environments for potential hazards to identify health, safety, and environmental risks; develop risk assessments and suggest corrective measures.
  2. Conduct safety and environmental audits and inspections, pinpointing potential hazards and recommending solutions.
Training & Education
  1. Facilitate safety training sessions for employees, stressing the importance of following safety protocols.
  2. Conduct orientation sessions for new hires and manage special projects as assigned.
  3. Promote awareness of safe practices and instruct necessary skills for safe operations.
Incident Management & Investigation
  1. Collaborate with various teams to investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, developing strategies to avert future occurrences.
  2. Proactively work to prevent safety-related incidents.
Regulatory Compliance & Safety Culture
  1. Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and NFPA regulations and proactively adapt safety practices to maintain compliance.
  2. Foster a culture of safety awareness and accountability across the organization.
  3. Ensure that work environments are safe and that employees adhere to safety protocols.
  4. Assist in ensuring that manufacturing operations align with Regal's safety standards.
  5. Support the facilities management team in acquiring necessary regulatory permits and submitting reports to regulatory bodies.
  6. Ensure employees have the appropriate tools and equipment, including PPE, to work safely and prevent accidents.
Environmental Sustainability
  1. Oversee and manage environmental sustainability initiatives (air permitting, reporting, waste management, etc.).
  2. Identify opportunities to reduce the company's environmental impact and promote eco-friendly initiatives.
  3. Advise Regal on matters of environmental compliance and sustainability.
  4. Perform additional duties as required.
Required Qualifications:
  1. At least three years of experience in a safety leadership role within the manufacturing industry (marine experience preferred).
  2. In-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and NFPA regulations.
  3. Strong communication skills to effectively lead training sessions and engage with team members at all levels.
  4. Proven ability to investigate incidents, analyze data, and propose practical solutions.
  5. Experience in developing and implementing environmentally sustainable practices.
  6. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and other relevant software tools.
  7. Conversational English proficiency.
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Professional certifications in safety management (e.g., CSP, CIH) or environmental management (e.g., CEM, CEP).
  2. Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  3. Experience working with regulatory agencies and auditors.
  4. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to drive change through innovative solutions.
  5. Effective project management skills with the capacity to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  6. Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) is a plus.
Work Environment:
Must be able to work in a non-climate controlled environment where ambient air temperature can exceed outside air temperature.

Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that a team member must meet to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to bend at the waist and knees and stand for extended periods. The team member must frequently climb into and out of the boats using stairs. The team member must frequently be able to lift 50 pounds, work 10-hour days with most of the time being on their feet, and work overtime, whether planned or unplanned.
