Business Development Director for Contract Manufacturing

Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly motivated and results-focused business development professional to join our team. As a Business Development Director, you will be responsible for identifying, pursuing, and securing new business opportunities across multiple "hard tech" industries, including Aero & Defense, Cleantech, Health, Industrial Equipment, Lifestyle, and Mobility.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct market research to identify potential contract manufacturing clients, starting in the local region.
- Leverage various channels to generate leads and build a strong pipeline of potential clients.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and collaborators at client organizations.
- Conduct thorough needs analysis and understand the technical requirements of clients' complex systems.
- Prepare and present compelling proposals and presentations to prospective clients.
- Collaborate with the legal team to negotiate and finalize contracts.
- Stay updated on industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies.
- Partner with internal teams to ensure successful project execution and client satisfaction.
- Work closely with marketing teams to promote awareness of our capabilities.
- Leverage CRM tools to develop and maintain complete and accurate information regarding your sales pipeline.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Minimum of 15 years of proven experience in business development or technical sales.
- BS degree in an engineering or technical field; advanced technical degree and/or MBA preferred.
- Deep understanding of emerging manufacturing technologies.
- Demonstrated success in driving business growth and closing complex deals.
- Well-established active network within relevant industries.
- Willingness to travel as required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to analyze market trends and develop effective strategies.
- Collaborative and adept at working in cross-functional teams.
The job is located in New Kensington, PA, or in close proximity.
