Position Overview and Responsibilities

EVRAZ North America is on the lookout for a seasoned Asset Reliability Leader to become part of our team. This individual will play a crucial role in pinpointing and managing risks associated with asset reliability by implementing predictive and preventative strategies that enhance the safety and operational efficiency of our facilities. This position requires a high level of autonomy and strong analytical skills, along with a steadfast commitment to prioritizing safety. The Asset Reliability Leader will engage with various stakeholders, including management, technical teams, production staff, service providers, and vendors.

  • Leads General Supervisors and Asset Management Coordinators to optimize departmental performance.
  • Collaborates with the Maintenance Superintendent to develop strategic departmental plans.
  • Partners with Maintenance, Engineering, and Operations teams to ensure the reliability and maintainability of both new and modified systems, advocating for necessary actions.
  • Contributes to the formulation of design and installation specifications, as well as commissioning plans for equipment.
  • Involved in the assessment and selection of equipment and technical maintenance service providers.
  • Creates acceptance tests and inspection standards.
  • Participates in the final evaluation of new installations, ensuring compliance with functional specifications through factory and site acceptance testing.
  • Directs initiatives to guarantee the reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, utilities, facilities, controls, and safety/security systems.
  • Systematically defines, designs, develops, monitors, and refines an Asset Maintenance Strategy that incorporates value-added preventive maintenance tasks and effective predictive methodologies.
  • Provides insights for a Risk Management Strategy that anticipates reliability-related and non-reliability-related risks that could negatively impact operations.
  • Develops solutions for recurring failures and other issues affecting operational performance, including capacity, quality, cost, or compliance challenges.
  • Utilizes Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) methodologies.
  • Collaborates with Production to analyze assets, including utilization, overall equipment effectiveness, remaining useful life, and other parameters that define operational condition, reliability, and costs.
Qualifications
  • Significant experience in Maintenance & Reliability management within an industrial setting.
  • A minimum of 10 years in leadership roles, preferably overseeing other leaders.
  • Certification as a Maintenance and Reliability Professional is advantageous.
  • At least 5 years of project management experience.
  • Proven ability to organize and prioritize tasks to meet commitments aligned with organizational objectives, with a strong emphasis on safety.
  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Reliability Systems and Preventative/Predictive Maintenance programs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, iB Analyzer or similar tools, and ERP systems (Oracle preferred).
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present information clearly and understandably to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated reliability in following through on commitments and ensuring accountability among team members.
