Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking a Production Asset Engineer to enhance our Tool Engineering team.

This role involves designing, analyzing, and modifying aerospace machine fixtures and tools to meet manufacturing specifications.

Additionally, a strong inclination to engage with factory personnel, including mechanics and tool makers, is essential for supporting the production system.


Key Responsibilities:


Evaluate program and project requirements, develop moderately complex equipment and tooling concepts, and design solutions for the Production System.

Compile and analyze technical data to assess impacts on product engineering design and rate estimates for equipment and tooling.

Ensure adherence to safety, producibility, maintainability, reliability, ergonomic factors, and regulatory standards.
Validate contractual performance milestones, maintain configuration control, conduct reviews, and prepare plans for production readiness, preventative maintenance, and spare parts.
Provide training for Production and Maintenance staff.
Develop and implement moderately complex work-arounds while maintaining configuration of hardware, software, and documentation. Support studies for asset disposition.
Collaborate in a cross-functional team alongside specialists from manufacturing, quality, safety, post-production services, product development, suppliers, and vendors.

Work Authorization Statement:
This position must comply with Export Control regulations; therefore, a 'US Person' as defined by 22 C.F.R. § is required. 'US Person' includes US Citizens, lawful permanent residents, refugees, or asylees.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the specified locations.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor's degree from an accredited program in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry (ABET accreditation preferred, though not mandatory).
2 or more years of relevant engineering experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

5 or more years of experience in tool engineering, including machining and assembly fixtures.
5 or more years of experience in an aerospace manufacturing setting.

3 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Desired programming skills - PLC controller experience.
Familiarity with programming, integrating, or troubleshooting industrial controls from OEMs such as ABB or FANUC, or PLCs, NCs, HMIs, or Drives such as Siemens, FANUC, or Allen Bradley.
Proficient in GD&T and relational design in CATIA.
Project management knowledge and strong communication skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with both the engineering workforce and mechanics on the factory floor.

Typical Education/Experience:

Associate Level:
Bachelor's degree and typically 2 or more years of related engineering work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g., Master's degree).

Mid-Level:
Bachelor's degree and typically 5 or more years of related engineering work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g., PhD, Master's degree + 3 years of work experience).

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Compensation is determined by candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

$81,600- $106,000

Mid-Level:
$96,050- $124,000
