Job Overview

DSG is looking for a Warehouse Operations Manager to oversee our logistics and distribution activities. In this full-time, hourly role, you will be engaged in a dynamic work environment, typically operating between 6 am and 6 pm, Monday through Friday, with flexibility based on operational needs. Your primary responsibility will be to manage the daily functions of warehouse and delivery services, along with supervising assigned personnel.

Key Responsibilities of a Warehouse Operations Manager at DSG:

  • Ensure adequate staffing levels; assist in the recruitment and selection of new team members.
  • Train, inspire, and assess the performance of Warehouse Associates.
  • Guide team members through performance reviews, providing coaching and necessary disciplinary actions.
  • Plan and coordinate staffing schedules, including weekend on-call coverage, and serve as backup when required.
  • Conduct regular departmental meetings to keep associates informed about operational status and goals.
  • Manage the daily delivery schedule, maintaining communication with customers, drivers, and the Sales Team.
  • Oversee vehicle fleet management to ensure safety, cleanliness, and maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and safety procedures among Warehouse Associates, reporting all incidents.
  • Monitor inventory control processes, including cycle counts and shipping/receiving accuracy.
  • Facilitate efficient material movement from receiving to storage.
  • Ensure proper inventory rotation and storage to optimize space and safety compliance.
  • Provide exemplary customer service as needed.
  • Evaluate receiving and warehouse performance metrics for accuracy in material handling.
  • Recommend improvements for operational efficiency and team performance.
  • Perform additional warehouse duties or projects as assigned by management.

Qualifications for a Successful Warehouse Operations Manager:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Extensive knowledge of warehouse operations, typically gained through 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, customer service, and communication abilities.
  • Thorough understanding of company policies, products, and operational procedures.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively under pressure.
  • Proficient computer skills relevant to the position.
  • Adept at problem-solving and decision-making, with the ability to follow up on actions taken.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 60 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally.
