Job Overview

DSG is in search of a Warehouse Supervisor for our upcoming location in Douglas, WY. This full-time, hourly role typically involves working between 6 am and 6 pm, Monday through Friday, with occasional variations based on operational requirements. As a Warehouse Supervisor, you will oversee the daily functions of warehouse and delivery operations, managing assigned personnel and activities.

Key Responsibilities of a Warehouse Supervisor at DSG:

  • Ensure optimal staffing levels; assist in the recruitment and selection of candidates.
  • Train, inspire, and assess the performance of Warehouse Associates.
  • Guide team members through performance reviews, utilizing coaching and development techniques as needed.
  • Plan and coordinate staffing schedules, including weekend on-call coverage, and provide backup support as necessary.
  • Conduct regular departmental meetings to keep associates informed about business operations and departmental objectives.
  • Organize and maintain the daily delivery schedule, communicating effectively with customers, drivers, and sales team members.
  • Supervise the fleet of vehicles, ensuring safety, cleanliness, and proper maintenance.
  • Enforce adherence to company policies and safety procedures among Warehouse Associates, ensuring all incidents are reported.
  • Monitor inventory management, including cycle counts, stock levels, and shipping & receiving discrepancies.
  • Ensure efficient and safe material movement from receiving to storage.
  • Oversee inventory rotation within the warehouse.
  • Guarantee proper storage of materials to optimize space and comply with safety standards.
  • Exemplify courteous and efficient service to customers as required.
  • Evaluate receiving and warehouse performance for accuracy in location, receiving, movement, and storage of materials.
  • Propose improvements for operational efficiency, working conditions, and associate performance.
  • Perform additional warehouse duties or projects as assigned by management.

Qualifications for a Successful Warehouse Supervisor:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Extensive knowledge of warehouse operations, methods, and best practices, typically gained through 3-5 years of relevant experience or training.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, customer service, and communication abilities.
  • Comprehensive understanding of company policies, products, procedures, and operations.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage tasks effectively under pressure.
  • Proficient computer and technical skills as required for the role.
  • Aptitude for problem-solving and decision-making, with the ability to follow up with constructive feedback.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 60 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally.
