Position Overview:

Caterpillar Inc. is on the lookout for an innovative Electrical Systems Integration Team Lead (internally referred to as Machine System Integration Technology Specialist) with profound knowledge in electrical systems. This role involves providing technical direction in the creation of advanced electrical control systems and the integration of electrical and mechanical components. You will be part of the New Technology team, focusing on earthmoving machinery, and will play a crucial role in developing and showcasing automation technologies that work in tandem with information systems, safety protocols, remote operation, semi-autonomous, and fully autonomous machine control systems. Lead a team dedicated to the development, integration, and testing of intricate systems that prioritize machine safety and operational efficiency, ultimately delivering exceptional product value to our global clientele.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate across diverse business units to align solution strategies and ensure seamless execution, maintaining clarity and unity among all stakeholders.
  • Utilize your expertise in electrical systems to spearhead the design of innovative electrical control systems and ensure their smooth integration with mechanical components.
  • Formulate creative solution strategies and develop comprehensive plans to translate concepts into practical on-machine demonstrations.
  • Effectively communicate with stakeholders, addressing and resolving any challenges that may arise to keep projects progressing smoothly.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (preferably electrical) OR a Master's or PhD in engineering with coursework relevant to heavy machinery manufacturing or construction.
  • Strong engineering foundation with a concentration on electronics and electrical systems integration.
  • Experience in product design, advancing control systems from initial concept to production.
  • Adept at navigating complex organizational structures, collaborating effectively with a broad spectrum of professionals and enterprise representatives. Proven ability to engage with senior leaders and present data-driven recommendations to foster consensus and action.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in New Technology Introduction (NTI) or New Product Introduction (NPI).
  • Proven track record of bringing technology solutions to market for customer-driven features within the construction or automotive sectors.
  • Experience in software development.
  • Knowledge of Electrical System Architecture, including the ability to create and interpret electrical schematics.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of articulating complex concepts clearly and concisely across all organizational levels, facilitating effective collaboration and alignment.
  • Skilled in conducting thorough engineering analyses, employing advanced research techniques to gather and interpret industry data and trends. Ability to synthesize large datasets and derive actionable insights.
  • Exposure to or experience with AI technologies.
