About the Role

Volt is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing mechanical systems and components.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Design and develop mechanical systems, components, and products, applying your expertise in mechanical engineering principles, including mechanics, thermodynamics, and materials science.
  • Research and Analysis: Conduct research and analysis to determine the feasibility, performance, and cost-effectiveness of mechanical designs, using CAD software and engineering analysis tools.
  • Prototyping and Testing: Prototype and test mechanical systems and prototypes to validate performance and functionality, using techniques such as 3D printing, CNC machining, and rapid prototyping.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, software engineers, and manufacturing engineers, to integrate mechanical systems into product development, and communicate technical concepts to co-workers.
  • Project Management: Lead engineering projects from concept to production, prioritizing tasks, managing resources, and meeting deadlines within budget constraints.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years of proven experience in mechanical engineering design and product development, with 2+ years of project management experience.
  • Certifications: Professional Engineer (PE) certification required, with Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
  • Skills: Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and engineering analysis tools (e.g., Finite Element Analysis), with experience in manufacturing processes, including injection molding, machining, and sheet metal fabrication.
