Key Responsibilities

As an Electrical Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing electrical systems in compliance with relevant codes.
  • Researching commercially available equipment.
  • Coordinating design and scheduling with structural and mechanical engineers, technology experts, and equipment suppliers.
  • Reviewing design methods and changes in scope with the lead engineer.
  • Applying standard practices and techniques to identify discrepancies and follow established procedures.
  • Collaborating with clients and project managers to ensure timely and budget-friendly project delivery.
  • Learning from and working alongside fellow engineers and environmental scientists.
  • Developing leadership skills to enhance autonomy.

Qualifications

A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is essential, and while a professional engineering license is preferred, it is not mandatory. Candidates should possess a minimum of ten years of experience in designing and implementing electrical systems for industrial or municipal facilities. Relevant experience includes:

  • Medium voltage and 480-volt distribution.
  • Motor control centers and variable frequency drives.
  • Lighting systems.
  • Instrumentation and control systems, including supervisory control and data acquisition.
  • On-site testing, system startup, and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of electrical building systems design and construction techniques is advantageous.
