Job Overview:

Caterpillar Inc. is in search of an innovative Electrical Systems Integration Team Lead who possesses extensive knowledge in electrical systems. This role involves providing technical direction in the creation of advanced electrical control systems and the integration of electrical and mechanical components. As part of the dynamic New Technology team, you will engage in exciting projects focused on earthmoving machinery. This team is dedicated to the development and demonstration of automation technologies, which often integrate with information systems, safety protocols, remote operations, and both semi-autonomous and fully autonomous machine control systems. You will lead a team responsible for the development, integration, and testing of intricate systems aimed at enhancing machine safety and productivity, ultimately delivering exceptional value to our global clientele.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate across various departments to align solution strategies and ensure seamless execution, maintaining clear communication among all stakeholders.
  • Utilize your expertise in electrical systems to spearhead the design of state-of-the-art electrical control systems and ensure their effective integration with mechanical systems.
  • Develop innovative solution strategies and create comprehensive plans to transform concepts into practical demonstrations on machinery.
  • Effectively communicate with stakeholders, addressing any challenges that arise to keep projects progressing smoothly.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (preferably electrical) or a Master's/PhD in engineering with relevant coursework in heavy machinery manufacturing or construction.
  • Strong engineering foundation with a focus on electronics and electrical systems integration.
  • Experience in product design, guiding advanced control systems from concept to production.
  • Adept at navigating complex organizational structures and collaborating with a diverse range of professionals. Proven ability to engage with senior leaders and present data-driven recommendations to foster consensus and action.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in New Technology Introduction (NTI) or New Product Introduction (NPI).
  • Proven track record of bringing technology solutions to market, particularly for customer-driven features in the construction or automotive sectors.
  • Experience in software development.
  • Familiarity with Electrical System Architecture, including the ability to create and interpret electrical schematics.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying complex concepts clearly across all organizational levels, facilitating effective collaboration.
  • Skilled in conducting thorough engineering analyses, employing advanced research techniques to gather and interpret industry data and trends. Ability to synthesize large datasets and derive actionable insights.
  • Exposure to artificial intelligence technologies.
