Job Summary:

Halff is seeking a skilled Utility Engineer/Coordinator EIT to join our team in Austin, TX. As a key member of our utility coordination team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth execution of utility installations, relocations, and upgrades. Your expertise in utility research, coordination plan development, and utility design review will be essential in mitigating potential conflicts, delays, and cost overruns.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of utility systems, including electrical, water, sewer, gas, telecommunications, and other relevant infrastructure.
  • Conduct utility research using various methods, including utility mapping, GIS technologies, and document review.
  • Collaborate with project teams, utility companies, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Utilize effective communication and negotiation skills to facilitate collaboration among internal and external stakeholders.
  • Exercise problem-solving aptitude to address unexpected utility conflicts and challenges.
  • Provide attention to detail in reviewing utility plans and construction plans to identify potential issues.
  • Employ leadership skills to guide junior team members and lead coordination efforts.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or a related field.
  • Preferred 2+ years of experience in utility coordination, with a proven track record of successfully managing utility aspects of engineering projects.
  • Preferred licensed Engineer In Training (EIT) in the State of Texas or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.
  • Demonstrated experience in utility research, coordination plan development, and utility design review.
  • Understanding of project management methodologies and tools.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
