Position Overview

Role: Civil EIT or PE in Water/Wastewater

Location: Austin, TX

Our client, a rapidly expanding firm in the Austin area, is seeking to enhance their team by hiring both an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) and a Professional Engineer (PE) with expertise in municipal water and wastewater design. These are permanent positions offering competitive salaries, comprehensive benefits, and significant opportunities for professional advancement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • For EIT: Assist in the development of project deliverables, including design plans, specifications, and other assigned tasks related to water and wastewater treatment systems.
  • For both roles: Create design plans, specifications, and reports to support municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including treatment facilities, pump stations, storage systems, and distribution networks.
  • For PE: Aid in the management and upkeep of project schedules and budgets, providing updates as necessary.
  • For PE: Collaborate with the Project Manager on various construction administration tasks, including submittals, contracts, and bidding processes.
  • For PE: Supervise both internal team members (EITs, drafters) and external entities (subcontractors, inspectors) to ensure efficient project completion.

Required Qualifications:

  1. Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; a Master's degree is preferred. PE certification or EIT designation is required for the respective positions.
  2. For EIT: At least 1 year of experience in municipal water/wastewater design.
  3. For PE: A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; expertise in drainage design is advantageous.
  4. Experience in the design and generation of construction plans, submittals, pay applications, contracts, etc.; prior project management or construction administration experience is highly preferred for the PE role.
  5. Proficiency in the design and calculations of water/wastewater plant infrastructure and associated collection and distribution systems.
  6. Experience in drainage design and collaboration with municipalities; project management experience is a plus.
  7. Experience in project management and permitting is desirable.
  8. Previous experience with Municipal Utility Districts in Texas is a plus.
