Position Overview

JOB TITLE: GO Club Site Coordinator

REPORTS TO: Youth & Family Director

FLSA TYPE: Non-Exempt, Hourly

ROLE SUMMARY:

The GO Club Site Coordinator plays a vital role in fostering a positive environment for children, families, and staff. This position requires collaboration with various stakeholders, including parents, educators, and community partners, to effectively implement the GO Club's mission and objectives. As a representative of the YMCA's commitment to youth development, the Site Coordinator is expected to work independently while ensuring a cohesive team dynamic.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee and organize staff schedules to guarantee appropriate supervision of children and the successful execution of planned activities.
  • Ensure adherence to established schedules, menus, emergency procedures, and communication protocols with parents and staff.
  • Design and deliver a curriculum that includes developmentally suitable activities in collaboration with team members.
  • Participate in regular meetings with staff and supervisors to discuss program progress and improvements.
  • Implement daily practices that promote diversity and inclusion, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for all participants, regardless of their backgrounds.
  • Exhibit professionalism and ethical conduct by consistently applying YMCA policies and standards with all stakeholders.
  • Facilitate the smooth execution of scheduled activities.
  • Serve as a role model for staff, demonstrating appropriate behavior and leadership.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of YMCA programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • Minimum age of 18 years.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Proven leadership abilities with skills in conflict resolution and diplomacy.
  • At least one year of experience working or volunteering with children.
  • Genuine enthusiasm for engaging with children on a daily basis.
  • Current CPR/First Aid/O2 certification (training will be provided upon hiring).

Preferred:

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Associate's degree or higher, preferably in a related field.
  • Experience in program development and implementation (minimum of six months).
  • Completion of one or more years of college coursework in relevant disciplines (e.g., recreation, child development, psychology).
