Position Overview

JOB TITLE: GO Club Site Coordinator

REPORTS TO: Youth & Family Director

FLSA TYPE: Non-Exempt, Hourly

POSITION OBJECTIVE:

The GO Club Site Coordinator plays a vital role in fostering a supportive environment for children, families, and educational partners. This position requires effective collaboration with various stakeholders, including staff, parents, and school administration, to fulfill the mission and vision of the YMCA. As a representative of the YMCA's youth development initiatives, the Site Coordinator is expected to work independently while adhering to organizational goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (not an exhaustive list):

  • Oversees and organizes staff schedules to guarantee proper supervision of children and the successful execution of planned activities.
  • Ensures adherence to established activity schedules, dietary menus, emergency drill plans, incident reports, and other essential communications with parents and staff.
  • Designs and executes a curriculum featuring age-appropriate activities in collaboration with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Participates in regular meetings with staff and supervisors to discuss program development and improvements.
  • Implements daily practices that promote diversity and inclusion, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for all participants, regardless of their backgrounds.
  • Exhibits a high standard of professional ethics by consistently applying YMCA policies and procedures fairly and equitably.
  • Facilitates the effective delivery of scheduled activities.
  • Demonstrates exemplary behavior for staff under supervision.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of YMCA programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Performs additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Minimum age of 18 years
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Proven leadership skills with a focus on conflict resolution and diplomacy.
  • At least one year of experience working or volunteering with children.
  • Genuine enthusiasm for engaging with children on a daily basis.
  • Current CPR/First Aid/O2 certification (training will be provided upon hiring).

Preferred:

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Strong communication abilities
  • Associate's degree, Teacher Certification, or higher education
  • Six months of experience in program development and execution
  • One or more years of college education in a relevant field (e.g., recreation, child development, psychology).
