Overview:

This role is dedicated to supporting operational functions and related areas through measurement analytics and various activities. The responsibilities encompass, but are not limited to:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Input of third-party volume metrics and liquid quality information.
  • Utilizes measurement data systems and reporting tools to scrutinize both imported and manually entered volumes and liquid quality data, ensuring precision and consistency across all measurement units.
  • Safeguards the accuracy of meter and volume data within the measurement data system for designated assets.
  • Generates, evaluates, and disseminates various analytical reports necessary for validating measurement data accuracy.
  • Assists accounting, product movement, field measurement, and operations teams in tracking and resolving custody transfer discrepancies in alignment with relevant regulations and internal measurement standards.
  • Collaborates with third-party interconnecting entities to ensure prompt and precise measurement data exchanges.
  • Partners with field measurement operations to compile and supply current and historical meter data for verifying gross and net volumes, as well as mass balances where applicable, for daily and monthly general ledger reconciliations.
  • Engages closely with measurement technicians and field operations supervisors to address balance discrepancies.
  • Reconciles tank tickets within measurement and/or accounting systems alongside SCADA-generated reports for assigned assets.
  • Reconciles truck tickets in the measurement system for designated assets.
  • Prepares, reviews, and distributes monthly general ledger reports for Refined Products Pipelines and Terminals.
  • Tracks meter factor trends by system and terminal, providing explanations for variances for assigned assets.
  • Prepares Gain/Loss reports by batch for the product line system, location, and area for designated assets.
  • Schedules and facilitates balance review meetings with field measurement and operations teams for all assigned pipeline assets.
  • Keeps detailed records to document all balance review meetings, adjustments made to balance configurations, and balance reports.
Qualifications:

Experience requirements are aligned with the selected job level:

  • The Specialist/Analyst level necessitates a Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience along with 2-5 years of relevant experience.
  • The Senior Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience and 5-8 years of relevant experience.
  • The Lead Specialist/Analyst level mandates a Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience and 8+ years of relevant experience.

Skills and Competencies:

To excel in this position, an individual must successfully fulfill each essential job duty. The following requirements are essential:

  • A minimum of one year of FLOWCAL experience in reviewing and editing liquid balance configurations and associated volumetric data.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Aptitude for data analysis.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated with the capacity to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment where priorities may change rapidly.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with Flow-Cal or other liquid measurement systems is advantageous.
