Position Title: Senior Measurement Engineer

Job Overview:

The Senior Measurement Engineer will be responsible for delivering design solutions and technical assistance for all electronic flow measurement (EFM) apparatus utilized at natural gas measurement and control facilities. This role requires excellent interpersonal skills to effectively engage with a diverse range of stakeholders with professionalism and courtesy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Determine specifications for EFM apparatus.
  • Identify necessary peripheral devices such as enclosures, power supplies, solar systems, transmitters, modems, cabling, and terminal blocks.
  • Develop application software for Emerson FB3000 systems utilizing FBxDesigner.
  • Create application software for Emerson Control Wave systems using ControlWave Designer.
  • Draft and interpret Function Sequence Tables (FST) for Emerson ROCs.
  • Assess new EFM technologies.
  • Collaborate with suppliers on EFM panel configurations.
  • Conduct factory and site acceptance testing for EFM systems.
  • Provide ongoing engineering support to operational teams.
  • Diagnose hardware and software challenges encountered in the field.
  • Utilize laboratory facilities to replicate and resolve field issues.
  • Document EFM system processes.
  • Train field staff on EFM apparatus usage.
  • Implement the company's design and operational standards to achieve corporate objectives related to safety, compliance, efficiency, and profitability.
  • Generate project scope documents, timelines, cost estimates, and budget forecasts with moderate supervision.
  • Prioritize tasks effectively across multiple projects.
  • Contribute significantly to achieving business goals through innovative project initiatives.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an accredited institution with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.

Experience and Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with design methodologies and protocols pertaining to natural gas measurement and remote control management.
  • In-depth knowledge of various flow computer types mentioned in the responsibilities.
  • Prior experience in programming with relevant application languages is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Project management expertise in developing project documentation including scope, schedule, budget analysis, and risk management.
  • Willingness to travel 15-20% of the time to field locations with occasional overnight stays.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and maintain a satisfactory driving record.

  • Knowledge of measurement standards and compliance regulations.
  • Experience with relational databases.
  • Understanding of electrical design standards and pipeline operations.
