  • GENERAL FUNCTION: The Senior Credit Analyst is chiefly responsible for collaborating with Portfolio Managers, assisting in the daily tasks of credit evaluation and oversight while engaging in analytical activities to identify potential risks or issues. A successful Senior Credit Analyst will also draft necessary documentation and prepare for credit assessments with minimal guidance from Portfolio Managers. This role requires a solid understanding of financial and risk analysis, showcasing proficiency in financial modeling.
  • The Senior Credit Analyst is expected to develop expertise in the credit evaluation process, gaining the ability to manage the entire underwriting process independently. Furthermore, the Analyst will participate in and support Portfolio Reviews as required. This position demands accountability for risk management by openly sharing insights and concerns, adhering to established policies and procedures, and ensuring that actions contribute positively to customer experiences. While working within the Bank's risk parameters, the Analyst achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting various types of risks.
  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Collaborate with Portfolio Managers on credit and underwriting tasks, performing necessary analytical functions.
    • Utilize critical thinking skills to identify and prepare documentation.
    • Regularly input indicative credit information into Banking Systems with high accuracy.
    • Prepare risk-rating scorecards and conduct tickler event analyses, determining actions based on findings in collaboration with Portfolio Managers.
    • Develop risk models and inform Portfolio Managers of unforeseen challenges that may affect client expectations.
    • Identify and execute monitoring analysis activities as required.
    • Verify compliance with covenants and update tickler events as necessary.
    • Monitor covenant fulfillment and track overdue or non-compliant covenants, recommending appropriate actions.
    • Assess covenant compliance reporting and identify potential issues.
    • Review compliance certificates to evaluate performance and recommend actions.
    • Update financial covenants and calculations as necessary.
    • Execute Probability of Default (PD) modeling with oversight.
    • Evaluate completed financial spreads and recommend necessary edits in collaboration with the Credit Control Unit team.
    • Identify and suggest preliminary portfolio management actions using Credit Service reporting and RADAR with some oversight.
    • Prepare ALSR reports with guidance.
    • Run risk and projection models based on provided assumptions.
    • Complete the underwriting process with limited supervision.
    • Create and finalize a Credit Approval Memo with minimal errors.
    • Review and revise renewals for straightforward deals.
    • Conduct portfolio analysis and develop materials for Portfolio Reviews in preparation for client engagements.
    • Support Portfolio Managers and assist with special projects as needed.
    • Take necessary remedial actions to address deficiencies and escalate questions or disputes to the appropriate level when required.
    • May assist in training new team members.
    • May engage in special projects as assigned by management.

  • MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
    • Bachelor's degree in Business (e.g., Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting).
    • 2+ years of experience in Commercial Banking.
    • Strong understanding of financial and risk analysis, including the ability to develop financial models.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of banking products and services.
    • Familiarity with corporate business structures and legal documentation.
    • General knowledge of U.S. regulations and government policies.
    • Preferred knowledge of local or regional markets.
    • Proficiency in internal banking software.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to utilize effective problem-solving and analytical skills while managing multiple tasks.
    • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.
  • WORKING CONDITIONS:
    • Standard office environment with minimal exposure to dust, noise, and temperature variations.
    • Limited travel may be required.
