Job Overview

The HR Operations Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting various functions within the Human Resources department. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of the administration of organizational policies, procedures, and programs. The individual will be responsible for key areas such as recruitment, HR information systems, compensation and benefits, employee relations, talent development, and training initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:


• Manage employee-related databases and generate analytical reports essential for departmental and organizational functions.


• Collaborate with management to effectively communicate HR policies, procedures, and relevant laws.


• Conduct thorough investigations in response to employee complaints or concerns.


• Provide guidance to managers regarding the company's progressive discipline process and counsel them on employment-related issues.


• Assist in monitoring employee compensation and promotional opportunities.


• Process, verify, and maintain all personnel-related documentation, including background checks, new hire paperwork, and status changes.


• Oversee benefits enrollment and manage requests for leaves of absence.


• Safeguard the interests of both employees and the organization in compliance with company policies and legal regulations.


• Manage the complete recruitment cycle, including job postings, recruitment advertising, applicant screening, interviewing, and reference checks, while providing hiring managers with top candidates.


• Maintain accurate employee files and input personal data into the HR information system.


• Process various forms related to HR activities such as new hires, status changes, performance evaluations, benefits, and terminations.


• Address day-to-day employee inquiries regarding policies, benefits, payroll, and compensation.


• Support the HR Manager in identifying, assessing, and resolving employee relations and organizational productivity issues.


• Assist in managing and executing employee engagement initiatives.


• Complete documentation for employment verifications, medical support, and unemployment claims.


• Ensure compliance with applicable employment laws and organizational policies.


• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:


• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field, or equivalent experience.


• Proven experience as a generalist in HR.


• Skills: Strong analytical abilities and proficiency in statistical analysis.


• Familiarity with HRIS, including applicant tracking systems.


• Advanced skills in MS Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.


• Knowledge of HR practices and organizational development principles.


• Ability to assess and evaluate candidates using sound judgment.


• Understanding of administrative processes and systems.


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.


• Positive, energetic, detail-oriented, and proactive in problem-solving.


• Capacity to quickly learn and apply new technologies.


• Effective in prioritizing and executing tasks efficiently.


• Demonstrated ability to influence and drive organizational change.


• Strategic thinker with an understanding of business objectives and HR alignment.


• Knowledge of relevant State and Federal employment laws.


• Certification such as PHR/SPHR is a plus.


• Travel: Minimal, if any.
