Position Summary

We are currently looking for a Geotechnical Consultant Engineer to join our team. This role involves providing geotechnical engineering support and expertise for various infrastructure projects in both public and private sectors. Responsibilities include conducting due diligence, investigations, remediation, impact assessments, permitting, and construction oversight. The position entails assisting in the research, design, analysis, and planning of various structures such as roads, buildings, tunnels, and water supply systems. You will be responsible for generating precise reports and documentation related to materials, installations, and construction specifications, ensuring that all tasks meet or exceed industry standards for quality, safety, and functionality.

Your Contributions
  • Gather, compile, and analyze data from various sources including physical work sites, soil and water samples, surveys, and geotechnical data for project development.
  • Maintain rigorous quality control standards for accurate measurements and statistical analysis of environmental data.
  • Conduct professional geotechnical engineering tasks, including site inspections and subsurface investigations to ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute project work, ensuring adherence to specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Assess site characteristics to identify potential safety risks related to environmental and geological factors.
  • Prepare comprehensive data visualizations and reports to communicate findings effectively.
  • Assist in the development and management of small to medium-sized projects.
  • Contribute to the preparation of technical reports and presentations that address design and construction challenges.
  • Conduct geotechnical studies to gather information for future project planning.
  • Support the implementation of site Health and Safety Plans.
  • Work collaboratively with other professionals on federally and state-funded improvement projects.
  • Uphold ethical decision-making regarding company resources and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct.
  • Perform additional duties as required by business needs.
Qualifications

Essential Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Geotechnical Engineering or a closely related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in engineering, with a focus on geotechnical design.
  • Engineer in Training Certification.
  • Strong technical knowledge of geotechnical engineering principles.
  • Experience in infrastructure planning and construction management.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proficient in technical writing and use of design software.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and compliance with health policies.
  • Willingness to travel as required for project needs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Engineering.
  • Professional Licensure/Certification.
  • Completion of OSHA Health & Safety Training.
